SM Classics has signed an MOU with Seoul National University College of Music for the development and future of the cultural industry.

SM Classics aims to introduce and present K-pop, a combination of classical music, jazz, movie music, and world music, into a wider range of music genres from SM Entertainment (co-CEO Lee Seong-soo, Tak Young-jun), who is leading the K-pop craze. The label was established.

On the 30th, SM Classics and Seoul National University College of Music held an agreement ceremony at Seoul National University and signed an MOU for ‘expansion and development of the cultural industry through musical exchange and collaboration between genres’. Through the MOU, the two sides promised to work on projects and contents related to the SM classical business, starting with academic exchanges and research for classical music education and cultural industry development, and also to work together with businesses that require mutual cooperation.

In particular, the monumental business agreement between SM Classics, which provides differentiated content to the world by crossing the boundaries between K-pop and classical genres, and Seoul National University College of Music, one of the best music educational institutions in Korea, is not only leading the popularization of the classical genre, but also It is expected that it will be of great help in laying the foundation for nurturing future music talents that will lead classical music.

On the other hand, SM Classics is getting a good response by steadily releasing various fusion contents that re-arrange familiar K-pop into classical music and recreate it as an orchestra.
