‘Metaverse girlgroup’ aespa (SM) to participate in ‘Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade’, the largest Thanksgiving festival in the United States.

aespa will attend ‘Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade’ held in New York, USA on November 25 (local time) and present a performance for the first time in a K-pop girl group.

‘Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade’, which celebrated its 95th anniversary this year, is a large-scale Thanksgiving festival hosted by Macys, a famous department store brand in the United States.

Macys announced the 2021 festival performer lineup on their official website on November 1 (local time), and said about aespa, “The most daring K-pop rookie girl group consisting of 4 members: KARINA, WINTER, GISELLE, and NINGNING. With the sci-fi concept that each of them has an avatar living in a virtual world, the music video for their debut song ‘Black Mamba’ has surpassed 100 million views on YouTube. The first album of a K-pop girl group recorded the highest ranking ever.”

In addition to aespa, this year’s festival will be attended by world-famous stars such as Darren Criss of the popular American drama ‘Glee’ and Jon Batiste, the composer of the OST of the Disney movie ‘Soul’. The parade is scheduled to be broadcast live on NBC in the US, and it is expected to catch the attention of viewers around the world.
